Learn how to make gluten-free, vegan kimchi! Join in a hands-on workshop making kimchi from scratch and take away tips to help you make it at home like a pro. Materials and ingredients will be provided so all you need to bring is yourself 😊 

Meet members from the community and take home a 1L jar of vegan kimchi to enjoy 🌶️

Refreshments (vegan and gluten free) will be provided near the end while we wait on the last brining stage. Please advise of any dietary restrictions. 

This series of workshops will be held at the Etobicoke pick up address so it’ll be more intimate with a capacity limit of up to 6 participants per workshop. Parking is available on the driveway and street, and TTC access is also available. Directions will be provided to registrants ahead of time. 

Limited spots available. 

In an effort to help members of our community in need, if you are able to, we encourage the donation of new or lightly used winter items and/or those listed in the last image (first care items, essential items, food bank items). These items will be delivered to Haven on The Queensway along with a kimchi donation to Second Harvest for fresh meals. 

Note: At checkout it will ask to select delivery or pick up. Either option works to proceed. There is no product being delivered or picked up. It is an in-person workshop :)

Intimate, comforting, and tasty!

Making kimchi is one of those experiences that is meant to be shared. Jacquie is great at facilitating an accessible, comfortable, and intimate space for that. I appreciated all the stories and tips that she shared, as well. A wonderful (and delicious) way to spend a day!

Not just kimchi making

I’ve wanted to learn to make kimchi my whole life (being a korean person), and I’m so grateful that this momentous event finally happened through this particular workshop by Jacquie. As easy as it would have been to follow a video, taking the time to learn through Jacquie alongside friends in this wonderfully personal, thorough, cozy environment was so special. I loved hearing and sharing with not only Jacquie but everyone else about our stories around kimchi. Come to make kimchi, leave with sweet memories!

I had a blast in this workshop! Jacquie is a great facilitator/instructor - very accessible, patient and eager to help, which made things fun and easy to understand. Would highly recommend!

Informative, Delicious and FUN!!

I’m so happy I took this class! I learned so many things about kimchi that I never knew and appreciated the hands-on experience along with useful tips and tricks. The class was fun, informative and relaxed. I enjoyed making kimchi and getting to know everyone in the group. I think I could tackle preparing my own batch now! Bonus: mung bean kimchi pancakes were a treat!
